We came close to a tragedy in Mouscron… This Tuesday, at the end of the day, a tree fell right in the middle of the intersection formed by the streets of Menin and de la Pépinière.
Fortunately, no motorists were traveling in the area at the time. No pedestrians were injured.
In its fall, the tree damaged the traffic lights.
While it took time to evacuate the tree, traffic was disrupted in this area of downtown Mouscron.

A little later, in the early evening, it was along the Express road that another tree collapsed. He fell on the right lane, in the Mouscron-Dottignies direction, near the Au Petit Château restaurant. Again, no injuries were reported. Traffic is reduced to one lane.
