During the New Year holidays, millions of Russians will relax in front of the TV, snacking on salads and watching their favorite Soviet films. One of them is Alexander Sery’s masterpiece “Gentlemen of Fortune.” The crime film was filmed back in 1972, but still remains in the hearts of viewers around the world.
The highlight of the film were the bright and funny assistants of Associate Professor Khmyr, Kosoy and Vasily Alibabaevich Alibaba, whose roles were played by Georgy Vitsin, Savely Kramarov and Radner Muratov. Few people know what the full names of the characters who have become iconic are.
With Alibaba, everything is clear – this is his name according to his passport, but Khmyr and Kosoy are obviously nicknames. Behind Khmyr is Gavrila Petrovich Sheremetyev, and behind Kosy is Fyodor Petrovich Ermakov. By the way, Kramarov’s character was given the same nickname that the actor had as a child.
