Baldur’s Gate 3 offers many mysterious characters that players enjoy putting to the test. Withered was particularly intriguing to players because of its apparent immortality. However, one fan managed to find out more.
Baldur’s Gate 3 introduces, during Act 1, a mysterious character named Withered. He offers his services to resurrect dead companions and even recruit mercenaries for completely personalized parties. Through cryptic one-liners with other characters, players quickly discover that ” the bony man » seems immortal.
That didn’t stop Baldur’s Gate 3 fans from putting his powers to the test, and they tried everything to fight and even kill him. But other than being mocked by Wither, there seemed to be no way to kill him despite his only Life Point. However, one player persevered and found a loophole.

The player u/caphill shared his find on Reddit. He explains what happened following draining Blight’s Intelligence. He wrote: “IHe thought he mightn’t be killed. I used Ability Drain to reduce his INT to 0 and he died. We decided not to reload and see how that affects the ‘gathering’ speech. After a long rest, his loot turned into a purse. I guess he won’t come back ».
