This Sunday in Having lunch with JuanaMercedes Ninci spoke of the love she feels for journalism and assured that she has been waiting for years to be called to host a newscast.
Juana Viale highlighted the work, commitment and time that the woman from Córdoba dedicates to her profession. “It’s my life. I am a journalist 24 hours a day. I love it. I have had this passion since I was seven years old. “I always wanted to be a journalist,” she revealed during lunch.
Mercedes remembered that, when she was very little, she preferred to watch the journalistic program Monica presents (1978-1980) by Mónica Cahen D’Anvers, instead of the cartoons. “I wanted to be like her. What’s more, I didn’t even watch cartoons because they made me sad. “I liked watching the news,” she said.
Although she didn’t have a television at home, she found it and ended up going to visit her grandmother in Cerro de las Rosas because she was the only one in the family who had one. “We didn’t have television because it was frowned upon in Córdoba society to have television. So my mom didn’t want to have it. I don’t know why it was frowned upon, but my mother didn’t let us see it,” she commented with a laugh.
In the end, Juanita asked Mercedes why she decided to be more of a chronicler than a driver. “For me, it would have been Monica years ago. I would love to host a newscast, I have wanted to host for years. I don’t know, maybe they’re afraid of me. I mean, I love walking (the streets) because I like to know what’s happening to people. I would also love to host a news program and continue seeing what happens to people,” said the journalist.
