Jakarta –
Actress Francia Raisa admits her relationship with singer Selena Gomez is not as warm as before. This was conveyed by Francia Raisa in an interview with USA Today.
Francia Raisa donated her kidney to Selena Gomez who suffers from lupus in 2017. However, Francia Raisa said their relationship had changed since the kidney transplant operation.
“It still seems crazy to me that so many people are paying attention to our friendship,” said Francia Raisa.
“I don’t know why the timing happened like that, but I remember being in St. Tropez in June and I kept talking regarding her (Selena Gomez). We didn’t talk much for six years. Especially the last year, we didn’t communicate at all.”
Francia Raisa said there was no conflict between them. However, he also wasn’t sure why they stopped communicating.
“Nothing happened, and if you ask the two of us, we don’t know what happened either,” said Francia Raisa.
“But we needed time to distance ourselves. Then when we got back together, we were better people. He and I still got to know each other. Again,” he continued.
Francia Raisa previously explained she and Selena Gomez were both ‘trauma-bonded’ which can be ‘difficult and complicated’ to explain. But he still considers Selena Gomez his younger sister.
“We bond over trauma, and that’s beautiful, but it can also be difficult,” Francia Raisa said.
“As people get older, relationships can change.”
Francia Raisa and Selena Gomez first met in 2007 when they were both stars on the Disney Channel. They became closer following Selena Gomez was diagnosed with lupus in 2015.
