This topic was written by Sultan Al-Qahtani – Thanks to LED/laser technology, it is now possible to create small-sized projectors with a brightness level suitable for daily use. However, compared to traditional projectors, these are usually significantly less bright, meaning daytime use may be limited.
However, LG does offer a CineBeam Qube which is said to have a brightness rating of 500 ANSI lumens. Throw diagonals between 50 and 120 inches are supported and the minimum throw ratio is set to 1.2.
The native resolution is 3840 x 2160, which means it can play HD content without losing quality. The contrast ratio has been specified at 450,000:1, and the DCI-P3 color space is said to be 154% covered.
It’s also said to be easy to set up thanks to the auto-adjusting optics, and a handle is built-in for transport. The dimensions of the device are 80 x 135 x 135 mm and it weighs only 1.49 kg, and it can also be used without a launcher thanks to the installed webOS 6.0 system.
Users can also access streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube, and there’s also an HDMI port with eARC and USB Type-C.
Wireless transfer of image content from Android and iOS devices should be possible.
LG has not yet commented specifically on the price or availability of the CineBeam Qube, however the projector will be introduced at the CES event in Las Vegas from January 9-12.
