Daily sickness and maternity benefits, new schemes…here is the list of everything that changes on January 1, 2024 in terms of health.

1. Entry into force of new systems

My prevention report

From January 1, 2024, doctors, nurses, midwives and pharmacists will be able to offer prevention assessments, 100% covered by health insurance, at different key ages of life: 18-25 years, 45 -50 years, 60-65 years and 70-75 years. The goal is to promote health-promoting behaviors.

Daily sickness benefit

As of January 1:

Employees are exempt from the 3-day waiting period applied to receive daily sickness benefit in the event of work stoppage following a miscarriage. The duration of stops that can be prescribed or renewed via teleconsultation and that of longer stops requiring a physical examination is limited to 3 days. The scope of the “objective setting” and “prior agreement setting” systems on daily allowances is extended to doctors in health centers and teleconsultation companies.

2. Revaluation of social security benefits

As of January 1, 2024, this minimum amount increases from €311.56 to €328.07i.e. a revaluation of 5,3 %.

Amount of the daily caregiver allowance (AJPA) and the daily parental presence allowance (AJPP)

On January 1, the amounts of the AJPA and the AJPA increase from €62.44 to €64.4.

Ceiling of daily sickness and maternity benefits

3. Deployment of specific measures for overseas

Coming into force of complementary solidarity health insurance in Mayotte

Instead of the co-payment subject to resource conditions put in place in 2019. The resource ceilings are modeled on the overseas model. The basket of care provided by this system allows access to more comprehensive care including 100% dental, optical and audiology as well as mandatory third-party payment.

Extension of certain services to Saint-Pierre and Miquelon

From January 1, 2024, the increased family supplement, the daily parental presence allowance (AJPP), the daily caregiver allowance (AJPA) and the daily support allowance for a person at the end of life are extended.
