Moscow. December 30th. INTERFAX.RU – Moscow region police detained a suspect in the murder of Roman Legoida, the father of the speaker of the Russian Orthodox Church Vladimir Legoida.
“During the well-coordinated work of investigators and criminologists of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow Region, as well as operational officers of the Main Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Moscow Region, a 25-year-old man was detained on suspicion of murder of an elderly resident of the Leninsky Urban District,” – reported at the press service of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow Region on Saturday.
According to the department, the body of a 90-year-old local resident with multiple stab wounds was found on the side of the road in the Leninsky urban district on Friday.
How reported in her Telegram channel, the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Irina Volk, the murdered man is the father of Vladimir Legoyda.
“It has been preliminarily established that the suspect attacked the victim in order to seize his money. After the murder, he stole 100 thousand rubles from a pensioner, and left the man’s body by the side of the road near SNT Meshcherino-Churilkovo,” the head of the Investigative Committee said in a statement.
It is clarified that part of the stolen funds was discovered during a search in the suspect’s rented apartment. “Currently, investigators and criminologists are working with him, he is being interrogated,” added the regional headquarters of the Investigative Committee.
A criminal case has been initiated into the incident under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder).
