Thiruvananthapuram: Solution to the Thrissur Pooram crisis. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan suggested that the rent should be done as per the existing agreement. The decision of the government is that there is no need to increase the ground rent of the exhibition city and the rent of the Pooram exhibition city is 42 lakhs. This is how the crisis was resolved. The decision was taken in a meeting called by the Chief Minister.
According to the existing agreement between the Cochin Devaswom Board and the Paramekkau and Thiruvambadi Devaswoms, the Pooram should be conducted gracefully this time. Thrissur Pooram is the main focus of the country. Puram is the need of the country to walk beautifully. Thrissur Pooram is an icon in many parts of the world. There should be no controversy in this’, the Chief Minister said.
The Chief Minister informed that the decision of the Cochin Devaswom Board that the ground rent of Rs 2 crore and twenty lakhs should be paid was enough to be paid last year. The dispute over the amount will continue following this year’s Puram. The devas expressed gratitude for the Chief Minister’s decision.
