Talla Dieye, ready-to-wear store manager, doesn’t hide the fact that he’s making a lot of profit as the holidays approach. “I opened my clothing store four years ago. I sell several types of clothing. Dresses, pants but also skirts and pants.
Customers come to find an outfit for December 31. The clothes that I offer are intended for women,” he declared. According to our interlocutor, girls are ready to pay the right price for a dress they want. “I rub my hands well,” Talla told us.
At Cheikh, another merchant, his shop is full of young girls who are looking for beautiful outfits. “We have been selling a lot of skirt and pants sets for a few days now. With the end of year celebration, many customers come to see us for new clothing trends. My clothes are not expensive and we sell good quality. We are not complaining,” he added. Customers who don’t hesitate to put their hands in their pockets.
Dame Sene, a clothing seller, explained that there were more customers than usual following an advertisement announcing a new arrival. “It inevitably attracts customers so we take advantage of it to sell our other items,” reveals our interlocutor.
Customers argue that it is a pleasure to spend their money because it is a necessity. In Astou’s opinion it’s not easy to spend money on clothes but we need them for the party.
