Concerned regarding the health of Ecuadorians, in 2023, the Hospital de los Valles (HDLV) has been very active in issues of prevention and health promotion, two necessary aspects to strengthen in the country. Below is a summary of their most notable activities of the year.

In the month of January, HDLV achieved three important milestones: provide Hospitalization, Emergency, Day Hospital and Outpatient Services to patients of the Ambato Private General Hospital with preferential prices; be accredited to perform pediatric kidney transplants with living and cadaveric donors; and incorporate cutting-edge technology to strengthen cardiological procedures.

In September he joined the commemoration of the International Suicide Prevention Day, promoting “postvention” as an essential part of the prevention and support process for those facing the followingmath of suicide; World Child Growth Awareness Day to raise awareness regarding the factors that can affect the normal growth of girls and boys; and World Lung Day, evidencing the importance of maintaining optimal lung health following the COVID-19 pandemic, since many patients have pulmonary sequelae following overcoming the disease.

In October, he showed the impact that his innovative service has had on the lives of Quito residents: delivery of medicines and laboratory by drone. Thanks to this unique methodology in the country, patients can now receive their medicines at their homes. Likewise, it has commemorated the World Day to Fight Breast Cancer, with a call to doctors to properly guide women in the early detection of the pathology.

Furthermore, within the framework of the National Organ Donation and Transplant Day (December 14), the HDLV has carried out an awareness campaign to promote voluntary organ and tissue donation.

For him World Radiology Day (November 8), has also highlighted the importance of this medical specialty within the diagnoses and treatments of infectious diseases and non-communicable diseases.
