Gaza City: The United Nations announced the former Deputy Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Sigrid Kag, as the coordinator of humanitarian aid in Gaza, where Israel continues to attack. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’ announcement came following the Security Council approved a resolution on Friday calling for the immediate appointment of a senior humanitarian and reconstruction coordinator in Gaza. They are expected to start operations on January 8. Kag knows six languages, including Arabic, with ease. She has worked for many years in the Middle East, including on the Palestinian border.
