The former international of the National Senior Women’s Handball Team (Petro de Luanda), Marcelina Kiala, confessed to this newspaper that she never witnessed cases of harassment while she was active in the sport.
He made a point of highlighting that, during his time in the formation of the road axis, under the leadership of Vivaldo Eduardo, players and coaches always made a point of prioritizing professionalism, in favor of the development of the sport.
Marcelina Kiala said she has no doubt that, if there had been harassment in national handball, the Angolan team would never have achieved its hegemony on its home continent.
Furthermore, he even highlighted that this practice has the potential to create a feeling of fear and distrust among athletes and coaches.
Marcelina Kiala said that the increase in the number of practitioners in the sport, in several provinces of the country, is an indicator that «there is no harassment in handball».
“I never noticed cases of harassment in our handball while I represented Petro. I have always considered my coaches as parents. If harassment really existed in this modality, we would have few people joining this modality.
The numbers prove that people want to practice handball”, said Marcelina Kiala.
