The leaders of the National Order of Quebec circumvented the rules in place by recommending the removal of French actor Gérard Depardieu, according to information obtained by The duty.

This recommendation was made despite article 29 of an internal management regulation which provides for the application of this sanction only in the case of a judicial conviction by a court.

“Only serious faults committed by a member of the Order, having led to his condemnation by legal, civil or criminal authorities, in other words serious faults, known publicly, justify the Order to intervene and recommend to the Prime Minister to remove a member,” indicates the document obtained by The duty thanks to the Act respecting access to documents held by public bodies.

It is however specified that an “admonition” is possible in the case of “less serious faults, also known to the public”.

Gérard Depardieu was made a knight of the National Order of Quebec in 2002.

A few days ago, Prime Minister François Legault removed the actor due to comments made in a report broadcast in France.

“Women love to ride horses,” Gérard Depardieu said during a visit to North Korea in 2018 to celebrate 70 years of communist dictatorship. Their clits rub once morest the pommel of the saddle. They enjoy a lot, they’re big sluts, that’s it.”
