Carlos Tevez already has his four reinforcements

Paraguayan striker Gabriel Ávalos joined Independiente’s preseason so coach Carlos Tevez already has four reinforcements at his disposal. The attacker, ex-Argentinos Juniors, is the only addition made official by the club but he had not been able to be on the first day of preparation in Villa Domínico.

Ávalos joined left back Adrián Sporle, forward Ignacio Maestro Puch and midfielder Alex Luna and completed Rojo’s quartet of reinforcements for 2024. The scorer, announced as a reinforcement during Christmas, was in his native country and might not arrive on time for the start of the preseason.

In the next few hours, the club will officially announce the other three reinforcements with the respective signing of the contracts.

The other novelty at the Santo Domingo facility was the presence of midfielder Diego Tarzia, another of the youth players promoted by Tevez. The 2003 class player is now part of the group completed by Santiago López, Rodrigo Atencio, Tomás Parmo and Mateo Morro.

Independiente also confirmed the renewal of the contract of defender Damián Pérez, valid until December 2024. Pérez, trained at Arsenal de Sarandí and with spells at Vélez, San Lorenzo and Colo Colo of Chile, among other teams, will continue one more season in the Avellaneda club.

The Rojo team will continue with its preparation in Miami starting in the first days of January. Independiente will debut in the League Cup on the last weekend of January once morest one of the promoted teams, Independiente Rivadavia de Mendoza, as a visitor.
