The list of people who have repeatedly defaulted on the four major insurance premiums has been revealed. Among the habitual delinquents were famous actors and rappers.

On the 27th, the National Health Insurance Corporation announced the ‘List of habitual and large default payers of the four major insurance premiums’ and disclosed the personal information of 14,457 defaulters on its website.

The total amount of arrears was 370.6 billion won, with health insurance delinquencies being the largest at 10,355 people (216 billion won).

Next came 4,096 people from the National Pension (KRW 147.7 billion), followed by 6 people from Employment and Industrial Accident Insurance (KRW 6.9 billion).

For health insurance and national pension, if the unpaid amount is more than 10 million won and 20 million won, respectively, for more than one year, and for employment and industrial accident insurance, if the amount is more than 1 billion won for more than two years, it is subject to disclosure.

This year, the number of delinquent delinquents and the amount of arrears decreased by 14.1% and 15.5%, respectively, compared to last year. The Corporation explained, “This is because the national pension disclosure standards have been strengthened, and those who were disclosed last year were omitted from this year’s list.”

Famous celebrities were also named among the delinquents. It was confirmed that actress Kim Hye-sun had been in arrears of 27 million won in health insurance premiums for regarding four years.

The Corporation explained, “We are continuously encouraging payment, but there is no willingness to pay, as following applying for installment payment 9 times, it was canceled due to non-compliance.”

Rapper Dok2 (Lee Jun-kyung) did not pay 22 million won in health insurance premiums for 10 months from April 2018. The Corporation said, “We have seized the deposit claims and encouraged payment 47 times, but there is no sign of any will to pay.”

The Corporation said, “For those who have the ability to pay but continue to delinquent, we plan to reduce the amount of arrears by pursuing intensive collection such as prior salary restrictions, seizure, and public auction.”
