Barranquilla District’s Animal Welfare Center Continues to Provide Temporary Basic Care Amidst Contractual Changes

The District of Barranquilla announced, on Tuesday night, that the Animal Welfare Center continues to provide temporary basic care in the midst of the contractual process of the change of administration.

The statement by the District Mayor’s Office is related to a complaint made through social networks, related to the suspension of services in said agency.

He added that management from the mobile emergency and sterilization units will be resumed with the new validity.

“During these days, dogs, cats and horses that require it will receive care directly at the Animal Welfare Center, between 8:00 in the morning and 5:00 in the followingnoon on route 11 # 4 – 413 in the town of Juan Mina,” stressed the district administration.

In addition, he indicated that the rescued animals receive temporary care at the level of veterinary health and comprehensive well-being, accessing services such as veterinary offices, waiting areas and basic health care.

He also explained that during the opening period of the CBA, 3,739 animals were cared for, many of which arrived mistreated or in delicate health conditions.
