More than 2 thousand personnel mobilized to ensure the festive season in Huíla – news

The Provincial Command of the National Police, in Huíla, mobilized two thousand,827 personnel, to ensure the festive season, within the framework of the “Oku Liandja” operation, 250 more compared to 2022.

The increase was due to the transfer, last July, of 300 personnel from the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) to that body of the interior ministry, as announced this Saturday, in Lubango, by the provincial commander of the National Police, in Huíla, Commissioner Divaldo Martins.

Speaking at a press conference regarding police readiness for the Christmas operation, the provincial delegate of the Ministry of the Interior stated that the measure aims, above all, to reinforce public security in areas with the greatest population agglomeration, to prevent the occurrence of crimes.

He made it known that personnel from the Foreign Migration Service (SME), Criminal Investigation (SIC), Firefighters, Public Order, penitentiary service were mobilized, with support from the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), to serve a universe of more of three million inhabitants.

He assured that the operation includes 50 vehicles, 130 motorbikes and the synotechnics unit.

He highlighted that the selected staff will work on public security in commercial areas and establishments, monitoring roads in the most critical areas and hotels, as well as ensuring religious and musical-cultural activities.

On the occasion, he called on the forces of order to be fearless in carrying out their activities, that is, working to bring police and citizens together and vice versa, and to be impartial in their actions.
