‘Times have changed sir, new girls will call and say..’

The director Jeethu Joseph will always be remembered for the movie Drishyam. Because the film reached the Kerala box office as an ordinary film and the ripples created by it have not stopped even today.

The film, which came in front of the audience as a family film, was later hailed as the best crime thriller film of all time in Malayalam. One of the biggest hits of Mohanlal’s career, Drishyam has been remade in Korean as well as foreign languages.

Rather than the director Jeethu Joseph, it is the screenwriter who holds his film back. The same thing is being repeated in the theater where the show continues in the same association.

Even following ten years, when Mohanlal and Jeethu came together once more, the audience was eagerly waiting for a film that beat Drishyam. But when it comes to the screen itself, it seems that the changes made by Jeethu Joseph are reflected in the person rather than being a screenwriter.

Let’s take the scene itself. It is totally Georgekutty’s story. He is a hero without heroism but heroic. He took a vow to go to any lengths for his family. Georgekutty tried to hide the unexpected guest who came to his family forever following eliminating it forever. Jeethu Joseph also meant the same.

But there was one thing that some audience who watched the movie and the makers of the movie did not say. Mental state of the girl who was attacked. Georgekutty is full throughout the scene. When Varun Prabhakar comes and assaults his daughter and his wife and when he captures her daughter’s nudity, Georgekutty, who is not present in the scene, focuses on covering it up following Varun’s death.

The father, who loves his family as his own life, tries to save his daughter from the wrong she has done. But beyond that, he does not allow his daughter to speak and reveal anything.

Georgekutty tells her what to say when asked by school teachers and the police. The scene is set up without addressing the mental struggles of the character Anchu, the things she has to open up regarding, the legal battles she may have to go through.

All applause goes to George. He is the hero there. Coming to the second part of the scene, the family comes to the decision that it is better to have a quick wedding to save their daughter from mental shock following all the events. The movie ended there by strengthening the hidden truth.

Spoiler Alert

But when you reach straight, you see that the straight door opens. Unlike his previous films, Jeethu had said that it would be an emotional courtroom drama.

The performance of the stars in the movie was a perfect confirmation of that. The backbone of the film is the heroine. Mohanlal’s character Vijay Mohan in the movie is not a hero like George Kuti. Jeethu is doing a story similar to the scene completely inside the court. In the scene, Georgekutty, a man named Georgekutty, fights alone once morest Varun Prabhakar and his influence, but the vivacious girl tries to defeat the unexpected guest when he comes forward.

Like George Kutty’s daughter, Sara is a child from an ordinary household. Nere’s greatest triumph is the resistance and legal battles waged by Sara, who is also blind. Absent from court due to circumstances, the hero later puts on his coat once more for Sara.

He goes to the court believing in the justice system with the attitude that even if he loses the case, the child should win. Sarah, who talks openly regarding the violence she faced and is ready to go to any lengths for it, often makes the audience wet. The best revolutionary change is that Jeetu himself gives his Sarah the voice, opinions and awareness that George does not give to his daughter.

Actress Anaswara Rajan has given a magnificent performance as Sara. Despite many circumstances to lose the case, Sarah keeps pushing forward. That’s why Sara’s words get full applause in the theater. That was something that the five in the scene mightn’t do. At the end of the film, Sara walks in front of the community with her face veil removed.

She shouts in response to the opposing counsel’s questions regarding who should touch her body and what is the concern. Is this Jeethu’s heroine? Is this a Mohanlal movie?

In order to win the case, Varumbor has to listen to double-entendres, and she is the one who loudly proclaims her position. Sara is not ready to cry like Anchu did not being able to answer the question.

Jeethu Joseph was appointed to prepare this film because of the changes that time can bring to anyone. Mohanlal himself played the role of George Kutti in it. The change in Malayalam cinema is reflected in the fact that a superstar who once won applause for his anti-women dialogues is now making a women’s film.

When Mohanlal’s character calls out in the movie, ‘Kalam marri sir, new girls will call you’, the entire Kerala side claps non-stop because of that big change.
