Apple had promised the launch of its ARVR Vision Pro headset for the beginning of 2024 and Tim Cook seems to be on track to keep his promises.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, mass production would begin next week, with the analysis citing sources within Apple’s supply chains.
The Vision Pro soon in production!
As for the launch date, the man remains more vague, but estimates that the Cupertino company would already be ready for marketing by the end of January, or even the beginning of February. These dates are quite consistent with Mark Gurman who was already talking regarding these same shooting windows only a few days ago.
During its first year of marketing, Apple would still plan to sell more than half a million copies, which would already be quite a challenge, especially since usage does not really seem to be oriented around gaming and entertainment. Apple has not announced any major partnership with a major studio and seems to be focusing its communication around a space computer whose contours remain vague.
Remember that the Vision Pro will only be launched in the USA initially, although other countries might follow by the end of the year. It is not impossible that France and other European countries might taste it before the end of 2024…
Survey: are you really expecting it?
Finally, let us point out that the price mentioned by Tim Cook last June ($3,500 excluding VAT) no longer appears on Apple’s dedicated pages. Will the helmet be more expensive? More affordable? We should have the answer…very soon!
