A source at the Maritime Prefecture confided that the boat on fire off the coast of Conakry is a wreck which is being cut up.
A boat in smoke was seen this Monday, December 15, 2023, in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Conakry. As soon as the first images were published on the social network Facebook, this raised concerns among several Internet users.
To find out more regarding the origin of this smoke, we have contacted a source at the Maritime Prefecture. She reassured us that it was nothing serious but rather a “cleaning” operation.
“During this holiday season, maritime traffic increases. There are a lot of people going to the islands. We are in the process of removing the wrecks so that the canoes can navigate freely and in complete safety,” explained our source.
