The two cabins of the new Huy cable car were delivered on Wednesday, noted the Belga agency at the high station of the Sarte plain. Rehabilitation and modernization work on the cable car is coming to an end.

The machinery of the two stations, the lower one in the Batta district on the left bank of the Meuse and the upper one on the Sarte plain, has been completed. The laying of the cables has also been finalized.

The system’s two new cabins were delivered late Wednesday morning. It was planned to hang one in the followingnoon, but some delays in the day’s program decided the site managers to postpone the maneuver. The fixing of the cabins should be carried out this Thursday and Friday.

“We know the Hutois’ attachment to the cable car. This arrival of the cabins and their installation are very important moments in the realization of this file which is highly attractive for tourism in our city”, comments the acting mayor Éric Dosogne.

On April 6, 2012, a helicopter fell following hitting a cable of the Huy cable car, causing the death of its two occupants. The local authorities finally decided to engage in the rehabilitation of the system which constitutes a major tool for the tourist development of the Meuse city.
