The search for a hostel is celebrated in the churches on December 24th. In real life it is even more difficult this year. Refugees are not welcome. Even less than usual. There are many reasons for this. The intensity of the conflicts and wars that we are confronted with exceeds the ability of many people to absorb them. World events are increasingly perceived as threatening. More and more people are closing down and withdrawing. The willingness to approach refugees with open arms and thoughts has decreased. The events of 2015, when a surprising number of asylum seekers moved across the country, have not yet been dealt with.
