Don’t need a speed limit increase or climate sticker policy
Sankt Pölten (OTS) – Matthias Zauner, regional manager of the Lower Austria People’s Party, was surprised at the statements made by Hafenecker and Voglauer on Christmas Day regarding transport policy: “Especially since Hafenecker and Kickl have only drawn attention to themselves with two issues in transport policy in recent years – with the demand for higher traffic limits and with the resoundingly failed demand for a mounted police force for Austria. Neither of these are topics that help commuters in Austria.
On the other hand, we have a transport policy from the Greens that aims at a speed limit of 100 km/h and a virtual halt to the expansion of our roads in Austria. Both the “transport policy” of the FPÖ and the Greens in their purest form would be to the detriment of drivers in Austria. That’s why a centrist policy pursued by the People’s Party is so necessary.”
“If the left and right fringes are equally outraged, then we as representatives of the middle of society know that we are right: neither a transport policy a la Kickl, which draws attention to itself with higher speed limits and mounted police, nor a policy driven by climate stickers Greens on the backs of drivers is sensible,” said Zauner.
