“The production plan will be increased by almost a quarter, AvtoVAZ itself currently confirms its intention to produce at least 500 thousand Ladas next year,” said the Deputy Prime Minister, who is also the head of the company’s board of directors, answering a question regarding Lada production volumes next year.
In the current year, AvtoVAZ’s production plan was 400 thousand cars; following being included in the US sanctions list, the automaker reported a small adjustment due to the failure of logistics chains (within 10%).
As company president Maxim Sokolov noted, Lada sales in 2023 might double in annual terms – to approximately 350 thousand cars.
AvtoVAZ owns production sites in Togliatti, Izhevsk and St. Petersburg. In mid-May last year, the French Renault transferred its share in AvtoVAZ (67.69%) to the state ownership of the Russian Federation. Now the brand consists of four families of models: Vesta, Largus, Granta and Niva.
