Fake employee of the Housing Institute scams more than 8 million kwanzas – news

A 36-year-old citizen, who identified herself as an employee of the National Housing Institute, was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), for having defrauded 21 citizens with promises of arranging homes in the centrality of Zango V

Detained on the premises of the National Housing Institute, in flagrante delicto, on December 15th, the citizen in question received 21 cases from citizens who intended to purchase residences in the centrality of Zango 8000, each of whom paid 400 thousand kwanzas.

According to the spokesperson for SIC-Geral, Manuel Halaiwa, the facts have been going on since the month of August of the current year, when the accused, in order to carry out this crime, pretended to be an employee of that State body, presenting false proposals to peaceful citizens who were looking to purchase residences in Centralidade do Zango 5-8000, charging each interested party the amount of 400 thousand kwanzas.

“We found that the accused, with this farce, unduly received a total of 8 million and 400 thousand kwanzas, having acted in collusion with another element who is on the run, supposedly an employee of the company Imogestin,” he said.

The person involved, due to pressure from the victims, took them to the premises of the National Housing Institute, leaving them to wait outside and simulated entering that building several times, making it appear that he was in contact with the employees, claiming resolve the situation regarding the signing of contracts for the acquisition of promised properties.

It was at this point that the SIC took action and caught the citizen, who was arrested and promptly handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, who sent her to the guarantee judge for other procedural steps.
