The Provincial Council of Education of Río Negro approved the 2024 School Calendar, which establishes the different organizational dates of the next School Year. Its motto is «Literacy is the cornerstone of the right to education. It is the possibility of reading the world, the ability to continue learning and writing our own paths.
It was carried out through Resolution No. 8130/23 and the class start dates, in addition to holidays.
«In a difficult context, Rio Negro establishes a school calendar with a strong focus on the construction of an institutional literacy project, from the initial level to the higher level, focusing on the objective of teaching more and better to students, understanding the clear need for them to be in schools“, revaluing school time and establishing it with responsibility and commitment,” explained the Minister of Education of Río Negro, Patricia Campos.
Regarding the school calendar in the Province, he stated that “recovers pedagogical centrality and contemplates the multiple dimensions that guarantee it” and that the priority is placed “on the development of classes, but without leaving aside the spaces for teacher training, articulation, accompaniment to trajectories, institutional organization, review and evaluation.”

Similarly, the continuity of “School + families” is proposed, spaces designed as spaces between students, families and the educational community as a whole, to strengthen the work of coexistence, as an institutional experience and participatory construction.
School periods
The period for educational establishments with Extended Winter Break (RIE) It will begin on February 21 and end on December 20, with a break between July 1 and August 2.
While, The common period will begin on March 11ending on December 20, and the winter break will be between July 8 and 19.
