The teenager was able to save himself from the water onto the ice sheet, but was unable to make it any further. After an emergency call from his 17-year-old brother, he was rescued by the fire department, rescue and water rescue. The 16-year-old was soaked but was uninjured, police said.
The two brothers had been playing football in a parking lot around 10:30 p.m. The ball bounced and landed on the ice of the nearby pond. When the 16-year-old stepped on the ice, he broke through the ice.
