PITTSBURGH, Pa. (AP) — Mason Rudolph and receiver George Pickens connected on two long touchdown passes, and the Pittsburgh Steelers kept their playoff hopes alive by beating the Bengals 34-11 on Saturday. Cincinnati.
Rudolph started for the first time in two years, replacing Kenny Pickett and Mitch Trubisky. He connected with Pickens for an 86-yard score on Pittsburgh’s second offensive play, followed by a 66-yard score in the third quarter as the Steelers (8-7) snapped a three-game losing streak.
Pickens caught four passes for 195 yards. Rudolph completed 17 of 27 passes for 290 yards and the Steelers had their best offensive performance in years.
Jake Browning threw for 335 yards and a touchdown, but he also threw three interceptions that the Steelers converted into points as Cincinnati (8-7) ended its three-game winning streak.
Pittsburgh took a 24-point lead into halftime.
Pittsburgh’s 34 points were their most in a victory since 2020, silencing critics of Pickens, who has been questioned on several occasions.
Tee Higgins finished with five catches for 140 yards and an 80-yard touchdown for the Bengals, but Browning’s mistakes put his team in trouble early in the game.
