The precision and consistency of the rumors and leaks around the Galaxy S24 left little room for doubt. Samsung finishes convincing us by releasing images of its future flagship.
It’s a little ” the Barbra Streisand effect » with each launch of a high-end product from Samsung. The cycle of rumors and leaks follows its usual rhythm for the manufacturer: first the leak from Onleaks which reveals its design, then rumors regarding its characteristics, before the enormous leak of press images by EvLeaks or Roland Quandt.
This is a cycle that we have known for many years, and which is true every time. This is also what gave the credibility of leakers or the journalists we have just cited. For several iterations, another event has been added to this cycle. Samsung’s reaction.
When Samsung asks for images to be deleted
C’est Evan Blass, @Evleaks sur Twitter (X), which evokes it. Samsung tried once once more to block his account by filing a DMCA request with the platform. This type of request allows brands to protect the images to which they are the rights holders. It is generally mainly used by the entertainment industry to remove pirated videos from films or TV series.
Result, the accounts of Evleaks and IceUniverse, also known for its Samsung leaks, found themselves blocked for a few hours. A maneuver considered ridiculous by the first person concerned when the images of the telephones had already been relayed and published on all the specialized media, like ours.
It must be said that by asking the platforms to remove these images, Samsung confirms their intellectual property. In other words, Samsung confirms that these images are indeed its own, and therefore that they are indeed the images of the future Galaxy S24. Through its approach, which we may consider useless given the virality of the sharing, the manufacturer actually contributes to giving credibility to the leaks and reinforcing the importance of publishing them.
