Liverpool issued an official statement today, Friday, in which it said: “The ruling issued by the European Court of Justice yesterday does not change the previous position of Liverpool FC regarding the proposed Super League. Our participation has been suspended.”

He added: “We will continue to work with fellow clubs through the European Club Association and participate in UEFA competitions.”

Thus, Arsenal joins the major English clubs that refused to participate in the tournament through an official statement, namely Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham.

Yesterday, Thursday, the European Court of Justice issued its ruling in the legal dispute that broke out between the clubs Real Madrid and Barcelona on the one hand and the European Football Association on the other hand over the European Super League competition.

In its ruling, the European Court of Justice revealed that UEFA and FIFA had abused their power by taking measures to prevent the organization of the Super League competition.
