On December 3, Yang was walking home with his mother, Zhu Xiorong, when he saw a bag fall to the ground from a passerby’s bicycle. Meanwhile, the cyclist passed by. The mother and son were shocked to see the money, but both chased the cyclist for a long distance to return the money to its owner, but might not find him.

The police officers praised Yang and his mother for not trying to take even a single rupee from the bag despite many demands. Through the news media, Yang’s story went viral on social media.
