New Delhi: The central government has allocated Rs 1404.50 crore as additional tax allocation for Kerala during the festival season. The money was allocated for basic development and social welfare projects in view of the upcoming celebrations and New Year. The central government has sanctioned an additional tax allocation of Rs 72,961.21 crore for all the states.
72,961.21 crore released on December 11, 2023 is in addition to the tax distribution installment due to the states on January 10, 2024, the central government said. This additional installment sanctioned by the Center is a big relief to the state government which is running out of money to pay salaries and pensions.
