Closed until December 22, Aqualibi is in full metamorphosis, “unique attractions in the Benelux” (REPORT)

“This is a pivotal moment in the history of Walibi and Aqualibi,” assured the park director, Jean-Christophe Parent, during his speech. We are arriving at the end of 18 months of significant transformations in several stages. We are putting Aqualibi back on the theme park map and we aim to become the leading water park in Belgium in the coming months.”

A project which fell behind schedule, first because of Covid, and then because of the floods of July 2021, which had strongly affected the entire Wavrian site, crossed by the Dyle. In a few figures, we will therefore find more than 1,000 meters of slides at Aqualibi, but also waves 18 meters high and even slides going up to 50 km/h. Without forgetting the complete overhaul of the reception area but also of the restaurant which will offer an outdoor terrace as soon as the sunny days return.

Finally, management presented all the work related to Aqualibi’s energy performance, including the installation of 5,000 solar panels. “Investing in an extension project is exciting. But this loses all its meaning if we do not have the ambition to improve our energy performance with a view to minimizing our carbon impact. I am just as proud to inaugurate the new tower as I am to present the energy renovation work. One does not go without the other,” declared Jean-Christophe Parent.
