Punalur: A 13-year-old from Punalur will represent India in the international youth basketball tournament in Sharjah. Briza Binu, a student of Karavallur Oxford School, has this rare opportunity. Brisa is one of the two Malayalis who have been included in India’s 12-Aga squad.

Brisa, a class 8 student, was a member of the Kerala team in last year’s national competition. Last CBSE Brisa’s team finished runner-up in the regional competition. Principal Jacob George and manager V. Anilkumar said that the scientific training given in the school under the tutelage of Kerala team coach Tinson John and Limsha Babu paved the way for Brisa to compete nationally and internationally.
Brisa is the daughter of Binu George and Reena of Ashtamangalam Jose Bhavan. Brisa came to this scene due to the performance of his elder brother Binto Binu, a class 10 student and basketball player of Oxford School. Binto recently attended CBSE in Chhattisgarh. Participated in the national competition.
