In conflict-ridden Sudan, in the next three months, regarding 30,000 children will be born without access to medical care, the international organization Save the Children has warned. In the context of long-standing conflicts in the country that have made the life of ordinary people impossible, this organization, which works worldwide for the rights of children, informed regarding the plight of Sudan through a press release the other day. The organization stated that since the start of the conflict, they have been able to reach around 2.5 million people, of which 135,000 were children.
Highlighting the sufferings of the common people in Sudan, Save the Children said that 60% of the financial aid that should be received by the organizations that provide humanitarian aid in the country is not available, therefore, the international community should remember the children and their mothers and bring help.
According to statistics, it is estimated that 45,000 children will be born in Sudan alone in the next three months. Only regarding 35 percent of the population may have access to any health facility. The remaining 65 percent do not have access to medical care. Such a situation can be a threat to the life of the baby and the mother. Even before the conflict began last April, Sudan had one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the world.
The civilians suffer the most due to attacks by armed groups on health centers and health workers. Amidst the threat posed by diseases like Ebola, Cholera, Kovid-19 and Measles, NGOs like Save the Children serve the common man.
