Fix: SV Ried signed Alexander Mankowski

Alexander Mankowski has been without a club since July 2023. The 23-year-old defender most recently played for second division club Floridsdorfer AC. Now the German, who was born in Burghausen and also played for Wacker Burghausen, has found a new club. “Mankowski has signed a contract in Ried, he is now intended for the Young Vikings,” said Wolfgang Fiala, sports director of SV Ried, on Tuesday evening when asked by the OÖN. If the German, who now has to make up for his lack of training, is completely convincing with the Young Vikings or there is a personnel shortage in defense among the professionals, a role in the second league cannot be ruled out. With Julian Baumgartner, who is now acting as head coach of the SV Ried amateurs, the previous captain and leading player will be missing from the pitch.

40 goals conceded in 15 games

Mankowski is supposed to stabilize the defense of the Young Vikings in the relegation battle of the Central Regional League. A look at the table shows how urgently this is necessary. The second team from SV Ried is in second-to-last place in the table following 15 rounds with just 13 points, the goal statistics. In the fall season, the Young Vikings have already conceded 40 goals, which is a negative league record. Mankowski has so far played 24 games in the Second Austrian League and 52 games in the Bavarian Regional League (for Schalding and Burghausen).
