The Korea Sports Council is holding a ‘One Team Korea’ camp for the national team athletes at the 1st Marine Division in Pohang from the 18th to the 20th.

The Korea Sports Council said, “We have prepared this camp as an opportunity to strengthen our mental strength and learn regarding the spirit of loyalty, honor, and challenge of the Marine Corps to achieve the goal of the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics.” The ‘One Team Korea’ camp was attended by national representatives preparing for next year’s Paris Olympics, including fencing Koo Bon-gil, artistic gymnastics Yeo Seo-jeong, swimming Kim Woo-min, high jumper Woo Sang-hyuk, and modern pentathlon Jeon Woong-tae, as well as regarding 500 executives and employees from the Korea Sports Council and member sports organizations.

The admission ceremony was held at 4 p.m. with the attendance of Lee Ki-heung, president of the Korea Sports Council, and Major General Joo Il-seok, 1st Marine Division commander, and the ceremony was followed by education on daily life rules and mental strength strengthening education (Marine Corps DNA education).

On the 19th, the second day of the camp, sunrise at Homigot, pledge to promote the Paris Olympics, and experience of the Marine Corps specialized program will be held, and the schedule will end with a completion ceremony on the 20th.
Lee Ki-heung, president of the Korea Sports Council, explained the purpose of the Marine Corps spirit training at a press conference on the 14th and said, “We expect that the number of gold medals that can be won at the Paris Olympics will be around 5, or in the top 20. A TF team will be created in the athletes’ village to analyze competitors, opponents, etc. “We are preparing. We are not in an era where medals are everything, but medals are important to athletes. It is true that there are concerns,” he said.
