The Charmed series became one of the favorites of teenagers in the 90s with an interesting fantasy story amidst the problems of teenage girls. They managed to overcome various threats, but one thing they mightn’t fight was personal ego and all the drama behind the scenes.
A number of these problems were revealed by former stars, namely Holly Marie Combs and Shannen Doherty, on the Let’s Be Clear podcast on Monday (18/12). In the event, Combs said that Alyssa Milano tried to get Doherty out of the event by blackmailing event executives.
“(Producer Jonathan Levin) said to me, ‘We never intended to (fire Shannen Doherty) but we were cornered. We were in the position of having to choose one,” recalled Combs of his conversation with the producer.
“We were also told (by Alyssa) that he or (Shannen) had left and Alyssa threatened to sue because of the unpleasant work environment,” he added.
After being informed regarding this incident, Combs decided to withdraw from the event because he did not want to continue without Shannen Doherty’s presence. This made Levin angry and ultimately ended with the actress leaving.

Not only that was the drama that occurred on the shooting location, he also said that Alyssa was very intent on listing all the things that made her uncomfortable on the shooting location. Combs was even very surprised by how many things Alyssa discussed that he didn’t remember at all. Like the argument in the trailer where the three of them swear at each other.
“All of these incidents happened behind the scenes and in the trailer where none of the crew was aware of it, we don’t even know whether the guest stars were also aware or not (of their fight),” he said.
Holly Marie Combs starred on Charmed for eight seasons and played Piper Halliwell. Meanwhile, Alyssa Milano plays the youngest sister, Phoebe, and Shannen Doherty plays the eldest daughter, Prue. Prue’s character died at the end of the third season and Doherty was eventually replaced by Rose McGowan.
Meanwhile, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Doherty admitted that there was a lot of drama going on in the project.
“There’s a lot of drama on set and there’s not a lot of enthusiasm for work. You know, I’m 30 years old and I don’t have the drama in my life anymore. For me whatever it is, I just miss Holly (Marie Combs) and that’s the only thing- The only thing I want to make clear,” he concluded.
