Abigraf (Brazilian Association of Graphic Industry), carried out a survey which reports that the printing sector grew 7.8% and printing activities rose to 23.7% in 2021. Data from Ministry of Economy also point out that the fourth quarter of 2021 ended with a surplus of $4.5 million dollars.
Regarding the current year, a report also by Abigraf in March 2023, which shows in detail the participation of segments in the Brazilian printing industry.
This report highlights the packaging sector with 49% of activity; 21% in the production of the editorial line such as books, magazines, manuals and guides; 8% promotional printed matter; 7% of security forms and forms; 5% of labels and labels; 3.9% transactional cards, such as bank cards and food cards; 3.1% pre-press; 2.9% of notebooks and 0.1% of envelopes. GIV also invested in the last two months in the hot stamping edge machine, in 2 electric screen printing printers, and also focused its investment on cutting-edge technology in hardcover binding processes, die-cut packaging and laser cutting.
All the capital devoted to purchasing new automation machinery and implementing new possibilities for personalized products led to the expansion of the graphics park, with the construction of another production warehouse. Now, its manufacturing area reaches more than 11 thousand m² with 24-hour production.
In an interview with the managing director of printing company GIV Online, Willington Bekmer, he reports that these new implementations make sales prospects for Christmas and next year viable.
Bekmer explains that the company’s expectation is that between Christmas this year and mid-2024, sticker sales will increase by an average of 54%; 47% business cards; 41% of leaflets; 32% in banners and visual communication materials in general; 24.33% in bag sales volume; 17.37% on promotional gifts and 12% on magazine sales.
With human investment, technological investment and the expansion of the industrial park, the director concludes the interview, highlighting that the printing company’s forecast is to reach approximately 20 thousand orders by the 1st half of 2024.
