The bloody crime took place not far from a bar on the Lerchenfelder Belt. The man was stabbed in the upper body by a previously unknown perpetrator. The injured man’s wife took the 27-year-old to a hospital by taxi. However, the man did not survive the stab wound.
According to police, the 27-year-old was partying with his wife in the belt bar when he wanted to buy crack from a dealer around 4 a.m. To do this, the couple walked out of the bar with the drug dealer and walked around 300 meters towards Josefstädter Straße. The attack took place there in the presence of the woman. For tactical reasons, the police did not want to say whether the man stabbed him once or multiple times.
Died during emergency surgery
The 27-year-old underwent emergency surgery in the hospital, but died due to the massive injury. The Vienna State Criminal Police Office has taken over the investigation. The perpetrator is being searched for.
According to the description, he is 1.60 to 1.70 meters tall, slim and has light eyes. He was wearing dark clothing and also had a hood on. Any relevant information (also anonymous) is requested from all police stations.
