Luanda leads price increases in November – news

Healthcare recorded the biggest price increase, followed by clothing and footwear. Moxico, Malanje and Benguela are the provinces with the lowest increase recorded in this period

The provinces of Luanda with 3.01%, Huíla with 1.82% and Cabinda with 1.76% were those that recorded the biggest price increase in October and November 2023, as shown by data from the National Consumer Price Index ( IPCN).

Conversely, the provinces that recorded the lowest price variation were Moxico with 1.28%, Malanje with 1.40% and Benguela with 1.41%. Health, with an increase of 2.69%, recorded the biggest price increase.

Also noteworthy are the prices seen in the “food and non-alcoholic beverages” classes with an increase of 2.61%, and also the “miscellaneous goods and services” and “clothing and footwear” classes with 2.49% and 2.47% , respectively.

Reviewing the entire year, we realized that since November 2022, the index had been positioned at 0.82, which shows that the indicator has been constantly rising.

In January it reached 1.41, and in November 2023 it reached 2.21. Looking at the provinces, it appears that Luanda, Cabinda and Zaire are leading the increase in prices.

In Luanda, the general level of the Consumer Price Index registered a variation of 3.01% from October to November 2023.

Here, as in the entire global range of data, the health class was the one that recorded the biggest price increase with 4.02%, followed by the “clothing and footwear” classes with 3.73%, “miscellaneous goods and services” with 3.58% and “food and non-alcoholic drinks” with 3.49%.

In the province of Cabinda, the Consumer Price Index registered a variation of 1.76% from October to November 2023, with the “health” class also being the one that recorded the biggest price increase, standing at 2.34%.

In Zaire, there was an increase of 1.64% from October to November 2023, with the “food and non-alcoholic drinks” class, with an increase of 1.83%, being the one that recorded the biggest price increase .

Overall, as the data shows, the National Consumer Price Index registered a variation of 2.21% from October to November 2023.
