For three months, thousands of migrants have entered the United States through a breach in the wall on the border with Mexico. Coming from China, Ecuador, Cuba, Turkey, and even India, these illegal immigrants find themselves stuck in makeshift camps where they wait for their files to be processed, without receiving any help from the government. They are simple volunteers who provide them with food, clothing, and care. Report by Pierrick Leurent and Wassim Cornet.

It’s an almost continuous flow…For three months, thousands of migrants have entered the United States through a breach in the wall on the border with Mexico.

Most come from China, and fled the communist regime. “I want to change my life here in the United States. I want a new life. The Chinese haven’t had freedom for 3000 years! The Chinese don’t need a king. They just want freedom and democracy” explains one of these Chinese migrants.

Since last summer, thousands of people have followed this route, in search of the American dream. But on arrival, a makeshift camp awaits them. Some wait there for hours, others for whole days in deplorable conditions, before being taken care of by the American authorities who only deal with immigration.

A new crisis which highlights the failure of the Biden administration. Less than a year before the election, the president is criticized on the one hand for a policy that is too brutal in matters of immigration, and on the other for a lack of firmness.
