“Enthusiastic entrepreneur, committed interest representative and convinced social partner”: former chairman of the WKÖ federal trade and craft division has died
Vienna (OTS) – “With Commercial Councilor Georg Toifl we are losing an enthusiastic entrepreneur, a committed representative of the commercial economy and a convinced social partner and we bow to him and his achievements with full recognition,” says Renate Scheichelbauer-Schuster, chairwoman of the Federal Trade and Crafts Division of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce (WKÖ ), on the occasion of Toifl’s death.
In 2000, Georg Toifl, who was born in Vienna, was elected chairman of what was then the Federal Section for Trade, Crafts and Services in the Austrian Chamber of Commerce (WKÖ). From then on, he headed the representation of the interests of Austrian commercial and craft businesses for ten years as federal branch chairman. He was also President of the European Union of Crafts and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (UEAPME, now SMEunited) for four years. From 1995 to 2000 he held the position of Vice Presidents the Vienna Chamber of Commerce other.
Georg Toifl will be particularly remembered for his commitment to apprenticeship training in Austria and the modernization of dual apprenticeships with the aim of offering them at the highest possible level. In addition, chairman Toifl contributed his know-how, tact and perseverance on the employers’ side as a collective agreement negotiator for both the KV of textile cleaners and the general collective agreement for employees in trade and craft.
“We thank him for that and bow in recognition of Georg Toifl’s achievements,” said Federal Division Chairwoman Scheichelbauer-Schuster. “Our special sympathy goes out to Georg Toifl’s relatives in these difficult times of loss,” concludes Federal Division Chairwoman Scheichelbauer-Schuster.
