Firefighters from Wavre and Nivelles intervened around 6 p.m. for a fire which broke out in a home on rue du Blanc-Ry. They were unable to enter the house when they arrived and, unfortunately, were unable to do anything to prevent the death of a resident. “It’s dramatic”, commented this Monday morning, Mayor Julie Chantry, who visited the scene yesterday evening. The victim is aged around sixty but his identity is not known at this stage. Likewise, the origin of the disaster has not yet been established.
