The Production Support, Export Diversification and Import Substitution Program (PRODESI) has financed 53 companies in the province of Huíla since January of this year, worth 13 billion, 257 million kwanzas.
Compared to the year 2022, there was an increase of 11 companies financed and 11 billion, 520 million, 461 thousand and 56 kwanzas financed, according to the provincial director of the Office for Integrated Economic Development of Huíla, Domingos Kalumana.
Speaking to ANGOP, he stated that they were companies financed by the Development Bank of Angola (BDA), through Notice 10 of the National Bank of Angola and the restructured Credit Support Program, mostly.
He said that the sector that benefited most was the manufacturing industry with more than 7 million kwanzas in 11 projects and followed by agriculture with 33 initiatives and a considerable volume of financing.
The province of Huíla, with an estimated population of 3 million, 282 and 968 inhabitants, is potentially agricultural and already has 13 companies with the Made in Angola seal from the Ministry of Economy and Planning.
PRODESI was approved by Presidential Decree No. 169/18 of 20 July.
It is an executive program to accelerate the diversification of national production and wealth generation, in a set of productions with greater potential for value generation, export and import substitution.
