“I was just finishing reporting on Chile, signing agreements to expand our signal and now I have time to respond to you. I tell you once more: Don’t intimidate us! They are not going to stop us.”
Mrs. Richardson continues to give her opinion regarding what is not her responsibility. He recalled that the uniformed personnel “twice this year have dedicated themselves to targeting various media outlets. The most powerful army in the world giving its opinion on journalistic work,” Villegas warned, at a time when coincidentally complaints are raining down on the nearly 90 journalists murdered by Israel during its brutal aggression on the Gaza Strip.
He confirmed that “we are determined, like 18 years ago, to build the largest communication platform in Latin America and the Caribbean.”
“In that effort, Mrs. Richardson, we are wasting no time, without pause, and your words only convince us more that we are on the right path. We call on the people of the world to be alert to such a threat,” said Villegas.
Days ago Richardson was interviewed by a Paraguayan media. Among other topics, she wanted to comment on the danger that disinformation campaigns represent in undermining democracy in Latin America, but she wasted the opportunity to analyze the disastrous role played by her Government in that area over the last two centuries.
Last October, Richardson attacked Russia Today, Sputnik Mundo and teleSUR because they supposedly “do not practice journalism of justification or verification”, “spread disinformation” and “undermine democracies”, although in reality he meant that they do not subordinate themselves to the line and hegemonic vision of the large corporate media bent on capital and imperialism.
