The top 3 following the first round of the giant slalom in Alta Badia look the same on Monday as they did the day before. Previous day’s winner Marco Odermatt from Switzerland is clearly ahead of Croatia’s Filip Zubcic (+0.87 seconds) and 0.95 seconds ahead of Austria’s best man Marco Schwarz. On Sunday, the Carinthian narrowly missed his third podium of the season; before the second run (1:30 p.m.) he was only a hundredth ahead of Zan Kranjec (SLO).
After 30 runners, Manuel Feller was the second best ÖSV runner in 16th place. Stefan Brennsteiner, who finished eighth on Sunday, dropped out following a ski error. Raphael Haaser (19th/+3.82) and Patrick Feuerstein (20th/3.95) were initially in the top 20.
