Midjourney AI is an excellent artificial intelligence image generator. It can create just regarding any image.

Midjourney is a well-known image generator. To use it, you must have a Discord account. After a free trial, you will need to purchase a paid subscription.

But until now, it was only accessible through Discord. Which, let’s admit, isn’t the most user-friendly platform.

Discord

Discord is a voice and text chat communication platform that allows you to stay in touch with your friends but also with an entire community of users who want to chat with you.

This is why Midjourney is launching its dedicated website, promising to generate images in an ever simpler and faster way.

An alpha mode reserved for hand-picked users

Image generators powered by AI have become popular, both among professionals and private Internet users looking for logos or illustrations, realistic or not. While many tools offer this service, Midjourney is among the most popular. However, to currently access it, you must have a Discord account and channel. A relatively complex process to set up and difficult to use. Freeing yourself from Discord demonstrates Midjourney’s desire to provide more efficient and practical access to its tool.

Launched in alpha mode, the new website will initially only be accessible to people who have accumulated more than 10,000 images via Midjourney on Discord, explains David Holz, CEO of Midjourney. To find out how many images you have generated – if you have already used this tool – go to your Midjourney channel on Discord. Next, type /info.

Alas, unless you’ve used Midjourney several dozen times a day since its debut in July 2022, you’re unlikely to be on the privileged list. David Holz nevertheless assures that access to the site will be open to a greater number of users in the coming months.

Simplified use

If you are one of the lucky qualified ones, go to the new Midjourney website. Click the button to join the beta, then log in.

Among the first testers were Nick St Pierre, creative director and Midjourney aficionado, who shared his experience on (formerly Twitter). He notes that the new site makes working with images much easier, before showing how it is possible to use a previously generated image in his prompt to create a new image. His demonstration also explains how to modify images by moving different sliders, left and right, to change their style, make them more original, or even adjust their format and size.

Furthermore, the tester also shows that it is possible to add a URL to images by simply dragging and dropping. A method that contrasts with what currently exists, in the use of Midjourney through Discord, where you have to type the full URL of an image that you want to incorporate. Here once more, we understand the desire of the new site to simplify the use of Midjourney. On Discord, every setting and option you want to include in your image must be entered, while the new site offers convenient graphical controls and menus.

If you use Midjourney, but have not been selected to test the new website, be patient: access should be expanded early next year. Soon, generating images using AI will be even smoother, faster and more fun for everyone.
