Only Rockstar Games has any idea when details regarding GTA VI’s expected PC release date will be announced, but a former developer at the studio has shed some light on the situation. Mike York, former animator at Rockstar Games, explained on his YouTube channel why the developer likes to keep PC players waiting, as he previously did with GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2.
“One of the main reasons a PC port takes so long to release following the game launches is because the developers want to make it as perfect as possible. They have to work out all these little bugs that they haven’t worked on,” York explained.
“A PC port always comes later because they want to prioritize what sells best first. A lot of the time, especially in the past, PlayStation was the big seller…so what the developer was doing was focusing all their energy on making sure that the port to PlayStation and the game to PlayStation worked really well.” , he continued. “When I was working on GTA V for example, we were focusing on the PS3 and Xbox 360 at the time, but we were mainly pushing the PS3 to its limits. »
